Man Gets 12 Years For Sexually Abusing Foster Kids

ST. PAUL (WCCO) -- A 34-year-old Coon Rapids man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for sexually abusing two boys who were his foster children, the Ramsey County Attorney's Office announced Tuesday.

On May 2, 2011, Joseph Leonard Larson pled guilty in Ramsey County District Court to two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, one of the victims, who is now 17, reported to authorities that he had been sexually abused by Larson while in his care from Aug. 27, 2003 to Jan. 1, 2006. The other victim, who is now 23, also reported being sexually abused by Larson in 2003.

Larson and the foster children lived in St. Paul at the time of abuse.
