Brooklyn Center Teen Saves Cousin From Drowning

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A Brooklyn Center teenager is credited with saving his younger cousin from drowning Sunday.

Denzel Wallace was enjoying the warm weekend weather by the pool at an apartment complex in Brooklyn Center when he noticed his 8-year-old cousin just floating in the water.

Immediately, he jumped in the pool, snatched her up and performed CPR on her.

Wallace said he learned how to perform CPR from his mother, who is a nurse.

It feels good to be called a hero, Wallace said.
