COLD SPRING, Minn. (WCCO) – A 40-year-old Cold Spring, Minn. man was injured in an ATV crash near Collegeville, Minn. late Sunday.

According to Stearns County authorities, Charles Early Ward was riding his ATV along County Road 51 at about 7 p.m.

Ward is an elk rancher who was trying to corral one of his elk back into its enclosure after it went loose during an evening storm.

The sheriff’s office said that Ward made a sharp turn and rolled his ATV.

He was treated at the scene and then taken to the emergency room at the St. Cloud Hospital. Authorities didn’t report on how serious Ward’s injuries were.
