MN Soccer Tourney Adjusts Schedule For Hot Weather

BLAINE, Minn. (AP) -- The Schwan's USA Cup youth soccer tournament is adjusting Tuesday's game schedule because of Minnesota's hot, steamy weather.

All game slots will be moved one slot earlier in the day. The first games that were originally scheduled to start at 8:45 a.m. will now start at 7 a.m.

The change is being made to complete as many games as possible before the expected highest heat index time of time.

The final set of afternoon games will now start at 2 p.m. instead of 3:45 p.m. Only four games are scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m., when the heat index should be lower.

Tuesday's opening ceremony at the National Sports Center in Blaine is scheduled to go ahead as planned at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
