Wis. Capitol Balloon Fight Leads To Bloodshed

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Police are investigating an apparent fight over a balloon that left the state Capitol floor splattered with blood.

Capitol Police Chief Charles Tubbs says a female citizen and a male state employee got into some kind of argument over the woman’s balloon near the end of the noon hour in front of the state Supreme Court hearing room.

Tubbs had no other details, saying investigators are still gathering information about what happened next. Asked whose blood was splattered on the floor, he said only that the woman apparently wasn’t hurt and investigators were still assessing whether the worker had been injured and whether a weapon was involved.

Protesters still seething over Gov. Scott Walker’s collective bargaining law have been bringing balloons into the Capitol during their daily lunch hour sing-alongs.

  • Swamp Rat

DITTO!!! Instead of blood why aren’t they throwing cheese balls??? Only in Wisconsin…………….

    • O-done-a

I’m glad you said it—that state freaks me out! Everytime I have to go there (for ill gotten fireworks) I get the jeebies from the peeps. There’s always one dude that gives me the “I’m gonna lock you in my basement and see to you daily” vibe.

      • The Architect

I’m so happy I left MN for WI. The freaks are coming out in full force, and it seems their numbers were previously underestimated.

      • Charlie

And we think you are paranoid to make a comment like that…
Would be nice if you stayed there as it would more fitting.

        • BOOYAH

Are you commenting for 2 or do you really think everyone in either MN or WI thinks The Architect is paranoid? His / her statment doesn’t really make sense anyway. The balloon brawl happened in WI, but he / she is glad to be there. So by that thinking the balloon nutjobs are not as disturbing as the nutjobs in MN. And with no real facts to report, how / why did this even make a headline?

    • Smashicus

Keep drinking the flavor aid, moron. That old wrinkled George Soros has his thumb up your behind and you don’t even sense it.

  • Realist04

Yeah Libs, Blame Walker. What did Walker have to do with this? Quit blaming him because you now have to earn your own retirement!

  • I think you are lying about your job

Are you at work right now, surfing the internet?

    • Dave-o

Nope. at home recovering from knee surgery.

      Are you?

  • Deep Thinker

I’m assuming you are saying that Pawlenty had no b@lls, because he sure wasn’t the answer to any problem.

  • Common sense

LOL! Too funny! So quickly this turns into a Republican and Democratic smearing. And no one can say what the argument was about.

    • Chris

      @Common… You are correct!

Lots of know-it-alls speculating with no basis for their comments… again.

      • Mike

Sort of like you. Eh Chris?

    • nate

All it takes is a spark involving government in one way or another and it’s a huge explosion from both extremes…Hell the story could’ve been about someone getting bubble soap in their eyes at the capitol and you would’ve had the same response!

    • card

that’s all people do nowadays. blame the other side even though both sides act the same. It’s pathetic.

    • James Benoit

      Gee, ya – a “Moonbat protester/singer “and a state employee…hmmm.

Obviously TWO HARDCORE Republicans involved in that, huh? LOL!

Republicans have JOBS and FAMILIES – they’re NOT petitoning the “gob’mint” for MORE, while WORKING LESS.

That’s the stance the Democrats “pimp.” Wise up.

    • Tom Wilson

We’re pretty sure who the balloon belonged to and who takes part in these ‘sing-alongs’. Gee, I wonder what political party this woman belonged to?

  • Chris

So… you are sure that the woman was injured?
How do you know this or is it just poor speculation?
And to refer to the GOP like that just makes you look silly…

    • SamIAm

It really doesn’t take much for liberals to look silly.I

      • ferg

        Amen to that.

  • Chuck

    Sure… but we can’t follow the logic…
Quite a stretch to tie this to Walker as he has done some real good!
Can’t wait for more changes to come as a result of getting tough on spending!

    • solo_poke

The Koch brothers thank Walker for his contribution to their obscene wealth.

Behind every great fortune there is a great crime.

      • smashicus

Furthermore, at least the Koch brothers employ Americans who in turn support their familes. How many Americans does that pig George Soros employ? George Soros is nothing but a parasite who takes much more than he gives. I guess that’s the kind of people you lefties are though, takers, not givers.

        • James Benoit

So true, George “I Was a Teenage NAZI” Soros IS “Dr. Evil.” He plunders – he contributes NOTHING to the country he HATES – the United States – and he plays Democrat politicians like Neil Young plays a harmonica.

Democrats love that Gestapo enabler like he’s their “Socialist Messiah.” Well the other “Socialist Messiah” – Obama, Soros’ lackey/employee.

          It’s sickening.

Go Gov. Walker – the state and country SUPPORT YOU!

      • JnnyB

Behind every great fortune there is a great crime.

That is why the richest people in the world are either tyrants, communist leaders, or wealthy democrat snobs like the Hollywood elite or tech giants like Gates and Jobs. Not to mention Obama’s good fried from GE who is making millions without paying any taxes.

But don’t worry the government can always print more worthless money and give you a lousy handout so that you can watch cable TV and eat McDonalds.

      • Brad

Beautiful lol! Right on the money smashicus. The soros droves are a scary ignorant bunch. Mooooooo.

  • realist04

Yeah Libs, Blame Walker. What did Walker have to do with this? Quit blaming him because you now have to earn your own retirement! you are ENTITLED to nothing!!!!

    • The Governor is a Laugh

Word is that it was Walker’s daily nitrous balloon that has kept him high and totally reality free since he entered office.

      • I am laughing too

Glad you can have a laugh over Governor Walker. I know I am laughing too, at every single angry liberal who still has their hand out screaming for more. LOL It’s very comical to see how well trained they are. Although, weak in almost every other aspect of life, liberals can hold their hands out for years. I know when I was a child my father would make me stand with both arms straight out as a form of punishiment and humility, and boy did it ache at times. But liberals view it as a right of passage and measurement of self worth, the longer you can hold your hand out without wavering, the higher up the liberal socialist scale you climb. Oh the hours of fun I am having watching this comical circus unfold in WI. GOOD TIMES!!!

      • Bawlamer Merlin

Word is that “Liberalism Is A Mental Disorder” (Michael Savage) and the balloon loonies help to prove it to be correct.

  • gonzo

The protesters have daily lunch hour sing alongs? If the state emplyee did the beating I can totally undertand. After the hundreth chorus of “I’m joinin’ the union” he began to giggle and mumble to himself. And then there she was, bobbing that danged balloon in his face. There was a ringing in his ears and a red mist before his eyes. The last thing he remembered was screaming and a popping noise.

    • card

how dare americans sing…they should all be beaten to a pulp. Thanks Comrade Gonzo.

      • gonzo

Da! There vill be no singik in Soviet Amerika! (Note the capital A in America). It ist too painful to ze ears! You’re welcome comrade “card.”

  • Paul Begala

Guaranteed she was one of the “GIMMIE !!!” crowd, the union hacks, who think they’re entitled to high wages and anything else they want.

    • The Architect

So you’re suggesting she’s well off financially, but for some reason is protesting for more money? Seriously?

How much do you think her salary is, Paul? Rough estimate…

  • russ in nc

It’s gonna get worse. Govt Union Workers (including police) rioting and killing. Call out the National Guard! Except the Guard won’t shoot their fellow Govt Union Workers will they? Burn down the Capitol Building! The Govt Union Firemen will stand by and watch. Take the wounded to the Hospital! But the Govt Union Nurses and Physicians will go home and watch it all on TV.

    • solo_poke

You just made the point that unions are made up of middle class working people, not billionaires who buy cheap politicians like Walker.

Ignorance is the tool they use to steal the workers wealth, Koch brothers need a good old fashioned torch light and pitch fork trial.

      The revolution begins.

      • smashicus

Your so called “middle class” has been sucking the taxpayers dry for too long. You will see what kind of revolution you get when Americans are tired of paying more and more tax. All I can say is, you better move to Cuba or Venezuela where you can live in the fascist socialist society you so desire.

        • C smith

Hell, why don’t you send these leftist pinko hippies to Canada? Then they can enjoy all the benefits of a socialist system while watching the US devolve into a third world theocracy in the throws of civil war! I’ll bring the drinks, you bring the snacks.

      • Dave-o

What IS the loonie left’s obsession with the Kochs? Is it that they can’t stand that successful Americans might actually want to support conservative causes? Is it that they hate someone with money (self-made through hard work and wise investment) whom actually sees through the liberal hype for what it is – failure on all fronts? Or is it that they think the world owes them a living, much like the parable of the grasshopper and the ant?

I think it’s all of the above.

        • Eric

Even more, does not the left have George Soros? He is the truly evil one.

  • jadams76

WALKER?! I thought everything was Bush’s fault… and his evil henchmen Cheney who increased the national debt by 40% in the last 2 1/2 years and wasted almost a trillion dollars on a failed ‘stimulus to nowhere’ in 2009 AND gave us a massive Obamacare boondoggle that raised rather than lowered insurance costs AND increased the umemloyment rate to 9-10% after they left office. Could Walker have done all that? I think not.

    • abbut@yahoo.com

You missed the memo, jadams76. They have moved blame from Cheney and Bush to the Walker and the Koch brothers.

    • killianx

Well Walker is Bush’s middle name! ;)

      • Matt

        Wrong Bush…

    • CharlesWhite

Wait! Let’s get this straight! Dem’s controlled both houses in 2008, Obummer the Soros lackey Messiah of the Democrat’s Urged the passing of the stimulus as quickly as possible, if I remember right “Obummer” even said it couldn’t wait for him to become president that’s how important Obummer and the Demorats considered the 800 billion stimulus, Bush leaves office and not even half the 800 billion is spent yet and neither Obummer or any other Demorat thought that it should be stopped… Ya it seems to me that true ownership falls on the party that held both houses and the President office! Then they top it off by tripling what Bush spent and Demorat’s have the gull to complain about Bush!!! What spineless leeches.

  • Bob C.

YEAH, Walker solved the budget deficit problem in just a few months without laying anyone off or making any significant cuts to services. All he did was to make changes that place WI state workers in line with their counterparts in the other 49 states (i.e., no double-dipping of hours, etc.).

Let’s see, balanced budget without layoffs….yeah, what a jerk!

Of course Illinois went in the complete opposite direction. The $8 BILLION that Gov. Quinn (IQ = 78) just borrowed will be great for the state’s fiscal future.

    • It's Obvious

Does the Governor call you “Uncle Bob”?

  • JamieinMN

Oh Wisconsin…..how I love you :-D You entertain me so.

  • Walt Dukehart

There is no Constitutional right for unions to exist. Why can’t we just ban them and break apart the ones that exist. Public Service unions are filled with incompetent people, teacher unions are bloodsuckers and private sector unions are greedy slobs who eventually bankrupt the industries they serve. Unions serve no purpose in modern day America except to raise money for political purposes. Outlaw union formation and disband existing unions and solvency will return to our beloved Country.

    • solo_poke

There is no constitutional right for corporations to be considered people. Ignorance must be bliss.

      • Deb

Who said corporations are people? If unions are so great, why do they need to use these tactics? Wouldn’t people be fighting to belong? I think maybe you are a VERY blissful person!

        • Kenny

LOL Deb, I agree!! These leeches are so ignorant thinking they are “owed” something.

    • cjk

They don’t need to be outlawed, that would be against our freedoms and principles. What needs to be done is to destroy any tax money or advantages that they gain from their political activities.

They should be allowed to exist if they can without ANY form of government assistance or favoritism.

  • DigitalBob

Get over it mafia union thugs. You lost. You’ll have to find your graft elsewhere.

  • solo_poke

Everybody earning under $100.000 year, take the month off. watch the wealthy starve in their own filth.

    • TomB

Yeah, great idea. They will be fired in a heartbeat and easily replaced by the 20% of unemployed, underemployed, and those who gave up to wait for greener pastures. They would probably be more appreciative of the opportunity and not whine so much about what others have that they don’t.

    • 1/21/13 End of an Error!

      Don’t thet already do that?

  • Smashicus

Crawl back under your rock, maggot.

  • William Jenkins

I want to introduce all liberals to a friend of mine and they won’t have to fight over balloons.

Where he lives there is cotton candy, all kinds of rides, and balloons….every color. And they float.

  • William Jenkins

I want to introduce these angry liberals to a friend of mine. He can solve their problems…

Where he lives there is cotton candy, all kinds of rides, and balloons….every color.

    And they float!!!

  • Skippy LaRue

The latest AP poll is now showing 53.2% of wisconsinites are currently gay or considering it. With a margin of error +/- 0.05% i think it’s time to protect the cattle…
I suppose they could always have a big parade. That’s what MN does right?

    • Incontrovertible wisdom

You are a completely obtuse. I hope you realize that. I too, found an interesting AP poll that states that all persons having the name, alias or otherwise, of Skippy LaRue is utterly brain dead. Please return to the rock you crawled out from under.
