Man Dies After Model T Car Rolls In Fillmore County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 64-year-old man from St. Clair died Wednesday, more than a week after his Ford Model T car lost control and rolled in Fillmore County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The accident happened at about 10 a.m. on July 20 on Highway 30 at 341st Avenue. Two people were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident, and both were ejected.

The Minnesota State Patrol said just before the accident, the front left wheel on the Model T came off, causing Kenneth Meek to lose control and the vehicle rolled twice. Meek was participating in the Model  T Ford Club of America multi-state tour at the time of the accident.

He was hospitalized for more than a week before he died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Marjorie Meek, 68 of St. Claire, suffered non-life threatening injuries in the accident. Neither were wearing seatbelts as the vehicle did not have them.
