BRAINERD, Minn. (WCCO) – A Twin Cities man is dead after swimming with friends on a northern Minnesota lake and not resurfacing.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office received a report around 6 p.m. Saturday that a 26-year-old man was missing on Lower Whitefish Lake.

The man was with a group of people that took a pontoon boat onto the lake to go swimming. After a few minutes of swimming, the group realized the man had gotten in the water but not resurfaced.

Around 10 a.m. Sunday, the Crow Wing County Dive Team located the man’s body in 92 feet of water.

The 26-year-old was from St. Louis Park, Minn. but his name has not yet been released until his family is notified.
