2 Killed In Blue Earth County Head-On Crash

BLUE EARTH COUNTY, Minn. (WCCO) — Two people are dead in crash involving a car that authorities were looking for after they received a driving complaint.

The accident happened around 12:30 Sunday afternoon on County Road 90 in Blue Earth County.

Mark Chalin, 23, of St. James was driving a Chevy Cobalt eastbound on County Road 90 when it crashed head-on with an Oldsmobile Alero heading westbound, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The driver of the Oldsmobile Alero and a passenger in the Chevy Cobalt were both killed. Their names have not yet been released pending family notification.

Chalin is currently listed in critical condition at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Before the crash, the state patrol received a driving complaint about the Chevy Cobalt. Authorities were responding to the area to look for the vehicle when the crash happened.

The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.

    I don’t think crossing the center line can be considered driving in the wrong lane, can it?

    i think of it as once you cross the center line you are now driving in the wrong lane.
