ST. CLOUD (WCCO) – A 58-year-old man’s body was found in the Mississippi River in St. Cloud, according to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office.

On Saturday, St. Cloud city employees reported a possible body in the river near the University Bridge. When authorities arrived, they removed the body of the man from the river.

The body was transferred to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office, which later identified the man as Dennis Everett Button.

The preliminary cause of death has been determined as fresh water drowning, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Button has no permanent address, according to the Sheriff’s Office. His family members in North Dakota have been notified.
