Hibbing Museum Hosts 'Gathering Of Buses'

HIBBING, Minn. (AP) -- An onslaught of buses is heading to Hibbing.

The "Gathering of Buses" runs Tuesday through Thursday. It's hosted by the Greyhound Bus Museum.

Museum director Gene Nicolelli tells the Hibbing Daily Tribune the event is for any kind of bus -- vintage buses, new buses, converted buses, big buses, small buses, "anything as long as it's a bus."

The invitation is open and was set to bus associations and admirers across the nation. Registration isn't required, so just how many may show is unknown. Nicolelli says he anticipates upward of 100 people and maybe a dozen buses or so, just based on word of mouth.

Hibbing bills itself as the birthplace of the U.S. bus industry. A one-bus company that grew into Greyhound was founded in Hibbing in 1914.
