Wis. Police: No One Has Claimed Prosthetic Leg

MENASHA, Wis. (AP) — Police in Wisconsin are puzzled that no one has come forward to claim this lost-and-found item.

Menasha police officer Aaron Zemlock says one might think a prosthetic leg would be vitally important to its owner. And Zemlock says the prosthesis isn’t cheap, typically costing several thousand dollars.

So for now, the leg with its black shoe, remains in the police department’s evidence garage. A woman had called police Aug. 4 after finding the leg. Police aren’t sure if it was misplaced, stolen, or discarded. But, Zemlock tells the Appleton Post-Crescent they don’t plan to go looking for its owner. They’ll wait until someone comes forward to claim it.

…..And they better hop to it, if they need their leg back.

I suggest they look in the phone book for people named Ilene……

  • Iconoclast

Perhaps a serial number on the prosthesis would give the police a leg up on finding the owner.

  • Iconoclast

Perhaps the owner does not want to come forward because he really did kill Dr. Richard Kimble’s wife.

Darn thing costs an arm and a leg to replace…

Not the real Iconoclast…….This joke was rejected by the real Iconoclast and he distances himself from this sub par post.

You’ve heard how people shrink as they age? Someone’s a foot shorter….

Seriously. As a family member of an amputee, these are darn funny lines….
