Art Adorns St. Paul Bar After Vandalism

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) — Businesses along University Avenue in St. Paul have had a difficult summer with vandals spray painting graffiti all over.

Now the outside of one of those businesses, the Turf Club, is getting a makeover thanks to a young artist.

It’s a scene ripped right out of a Western with cowboys sitting around a campfire.

“Their logo has been a horse shoe, so I thought ‘Oh let’s do a Western scene.’ I love doing cowboys and horses,” said artist Angela Talle.

Talle has designed and created a glass mosaic that she’s putting on the side of the Turf Club. She got a grant from the Minnesota Arts Board.

“I have about another month and I’ve been here for six weeks so far,” she said.

There’s been a lot of vandalism on University Avenue this summer, so this beautiful piece of art is welcome in the community.

Must be a lot of white boyz taggin around there…

I’m sure those same white boyz will tag over the art they paint on the turf too.

Might help to install video cameras. My condo building had several vandals that would also steal from our parking garages until our Association installed cameras which then helped the police find and capture the people responsible. Helps to also put up a sign saying that the grounds are under 24 hour video surveillance.
