DULUTH, Minn. (AP) – Police say a man suspected of robbing a Walgreens at gunpoint was shot and killed in Duluth after crashing a stolen vehicle into a house and firing at officers.

Police tried stopping the car about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, but the car sped away and police began a pursuit. The chase ended when the suspect crashed into a house and fled. Police say the man ran into a nearby house and shot at two officers who pursued him. One officer returned fire, killing the man. A woman in the house suffered a gunshot wound. Officer Jim Hansen says the woman’s injuries are non-life threatening. The officers were not injured.

Police tried stopping the car because it matched the description of one that was stolen at gunpoint following a Walgreens robbery Saturday.
