Authorities: 2 Arrested After Boy, 3, Severely Abused

ANOKA (WCCO) -- The parents of a 3-year-old boy, who is on life support with injuries "consistent with severe abuse," have been arrested, according to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office.

On Tuesday at 6 p.m., the boy's mother, identified as 40-year-old Elizabeth Moorman, brought the boy to Mercy Hospital. The boy was quickly diagnosed with severe head trauma, punctured lungs and a variety of contusions all over his body.

After the diagnosis, the Anoka Police Department was notified and the Anoka County Sheriff's Office began an investigation.

The boy was airlifted to the Hennepin County Medical Center for multiple injuries that were consistent with child abuse. As of Thursday afternoon, the boy is on life support in the ICU of HCMC.

Moorman and her boyfriend, Anthony Urban, were arrested and are currently in Anoka County Jail awaiting charges, which are expected on Friday.
