Wis. Man Cited In Beer Incident With Lawmaker

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Madison police have cited a Racine man who they say was involved in dumping a glass of beer on the head of Republican state Rep. Robin Vos earlier this week.

Police Capt. Mary Schauf says 26-year-old Miles Kristan turned himself in to police Thursday. She says he was cited for disorderly conduct and released without incident.

The Journal Times of Racine reached Kristan by cellphone Thursday night. He wouldn't confirm whether he was the one who poured the beer on Vos.

A bartender told police that the man who dumped the beer yelled something like "Money" and "Damn Republicans" during the incident Wednesday night. Beer also splashed onto two other lawmakers.

Schauf says no fine has been set yet for Kristan. He's due in court Oct. 10.
