Barn Fire Kills 9,000 Turkeys

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A fire in Northwest Minnesota wiped out a farmer’s barn and the 9,000 turkeys inside.

Firefighters said the fire happened Tuesday night near Pelican Rapids, Minn.

The turkeys were going to be sent to market next week.

Investigators said an electrical issue might be to blame.

The loss is estimated to be $750,000.
