GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) – There was a long wait for some Green Bay Packers fans to get into Lambeau Field Sunday because of new security measures.

The National Football League asked teams to increase security on game day. So, every police officer outside Lambeau’s gates was armed with a metal-detecting wand. But that meant a-half hour delay or more before some fans got through the gates. Dave Davies of Racine tells WLUK-TV he paid $100 for the game, but missed the kickoff.

With time running out before the game and fans growing angry, officers stopped using the wands and went back to pat-downs to get people inside faster.

Green Bay Police Capt. Jim Runge says they’ll meet with the Packers Monday to evaluate the security process and make plans for the next home game.
