ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A St. Paul man has been sentenced to about ten months in jail for fatally shooting his brother.
Forty-year-old Eric John Orloske pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter in the March 2010 death of his brother Brian Orloske. The defendant testified he and his brother were drinking heavily the night of the shooting. Eric Orloske says he retrieved a gun from an upstairs bedroom at his house, tripped on the stairs and the gun went off. Brian Orloske died of a gunshot wound to the head.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press says Ramsey County District Judge John Van de North sentenced Orloske to 285 days in jail, citing his good behavior since the shooting.
