MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating and looking for the public’s help after a body was found in a burning car Wednesday morning between Cotton and Hibbing in St. Louis County.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an accident at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in Kelsey Township. A call came in reporting that a car was on fire in the ditch.
When authorities arrived to the scene, the fire was almost out. Inside the vehicle was the remains of a dead body whose identity and sex is not known at this time. The vehicle is described as a dark four-door Ford Focus.
The incident remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information about the accident or who the victim might be is asked to call the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department at (218) 727-8770.
