Wis. Man Accused Of Torching Home In Foreclosure

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — A 46-year-old Green Bay man has been charged with setting fire to his home that was in foreclosure.

Timothy R. Porter was charged Friday with a felony count of arson. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison.

A criminal complaint says Porter’s $69,300 home is in a foreclosure action by a bank.

Prosecutors say Porter set fire to the home Wednesday. A neighbor told investigators Porter had been removing items from the house earlier in the day and left shortly before smoke and flames began pouring from a basement window.

A Green Bay Press-Gazette report says Porter’s bond was set at $2,000 cash.

The Associated Press tried to reach Porter Saturday but his telephone number was disconnected. Online court records didn’t list a defense attorney.

He torched a $69,000 house?? For real?? How nice can that house be? He couldn’t make the payments on a house that cheap? Should be on the ‘news of the weird’. But I guess since the Pack is coming to town, the local media has to put out all of the weird, stupid stuff that is happening in WI right now.

25% of America is unemployed. Many people only kept their homes because they refinanced. People are not okay, they are lost with nowhere to turn and WI governor thinks he is in NY city or CA.

If you still have your job count your blessings because in another year it will be worse if something doesn’t happen soon.

No kidding, Jake. The 25% of people out of work are the lame ones that really never wanted to work in the first place. Looking for work to 1, 2, 3 years?! Shaddup and give us all a break, already…
