Minn. Duluth Rolls Over Bemidji St. 6-2
DULUTH, Minn. (AP) -- Jack Connolly had a goal and two assists to help Minnesota Duluth beat Bemidji State 6-2 in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game on Friday.
Connolly was one of 10 players to score points for the Bulldogs (3-3-1, 1-2-0), who picked up their first WCHA win of the season.
Bemidji State (3-4-0, 2-3-0) scored the first two goals of the game by Jordan George and Brad Hunt. Hunt's goal gave the Beavers a 2-0 lead at 7:26 of the first period. Bemidji's two goals came on just five shots in the first period.
It was all UMD after that.
The Bulldogs outshot the Bemidji State 40-17. Kenny Reiter made 15 saves for the Bulldogs, while Andrew Walsh made 34 saves for Bemidji State.
Keegan Flaherty's goal midway through the second period proved to be the game-winner.
