ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) – Justin Schultz’s power-play goal with 40 seconds left knotted the game and helped the Badgers earn a 3-3 tie with St. Cloud State Saturday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
Skating with an extra attacker and on the power play, the Badgers (4-5-1, 3-4-1) got the tying goal from Schultz’s at 19:20. It was his second goal of the game and the second power-play goal by Wisconsin in the last five minutes of regulation.
Matt Paape’s goal with a man advantage at 15:41 pulled Wisconsin within one goal.
Schultz scored the game’s first goal midway through the first period.
Andre Prochno, Jared Festler and Ben Hanowski scored for the Huskies (4-4-2, 2-1-1).
Ryan Faragher made 33 saves for St. Cloud State and Joel Rumpel made 24 for the Badgers.
St. Cloud State won Friday’s game 7-2.
