MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 32-year-old man from St. Michael has been arrested after a 60-year-old man from Blaine died of injuries suffered in a bar fight over the weekend in Proctor.
Authorities said the incident happened early Sunday morning at the Power House Bar in Proctor. At about 1:39 a.m., police responded to a call at the bar where a white man was found unconscious outside the bar.
Dale Anderson was transported to a Duluth hospital, where he died Wednesday of injuries suffered in the altercation. Authorities said he suffered a fatal head injury.
Through an investigation of the incident, police learned that the suspect was Paul Joseph Welle of St. Michael. He was arrested by Proctor Police Thursday morning and booked into the St. Louis County Jail. He is awaiting charges of second-degree unintentional homicide and first-degree manslaughter.
What led up to the altercation between the two men is still not known. Authorities said the incident remains under investigation.
