Jet Bound For MN Returns To Fargo Because Of Smoke

FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- A Delta Airlines plane heading from Fargo to Minneapolis returned to Hector International Airport after the captain smelled smoke.

Delta spokesman Eric Torbenson says Flight 1246 had 76 passengers on board when the captain decided to return to the airport after the initial takeoff at 9 a.m. because of a "smoky odor." Torbenson said the plane landed at the Fargo airport without incident and maintenance personnel addressed the issue.

Torbenson said he does not yet have information on what caused the odor.

The flight is scheduled to take off once again for Minneapolis at 2 p.m.
