Gophers' Gray Has Kept His Cool -- And Perspective

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — MarQueis Gray has had to do a lot of growing up this year.

Minnesota's junior quarterback has had a new offense to learn and extra responsibilities to grasp in his first season as a starter. Last week, Gray welcomed two more additions to his daily routine: twin boys. His girlfriend gave birth the day before the Gophers played Wisconsin.

Gray says he realizes fatherhood will only get harder. He says he simply must "mature every day." His teammates and coaches have seen him do just that this fall, despite plenty of struggles with injuries and accuracy throwing the ball.

Gray has only completed 51.7 percent of his passes this season. But he has an opportunity to break the school's record for single-season yards rushing by a quarterback.
