MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A barn housing around 400 hogs caught fire early Sunday morning. Roughly 250 hogs were killed.
Henderson Fire Chief Brandon Phillips said crews were called to the fire around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, they found one barn fully engulfed in flames.
Crews were able to open one side of the barn and let about 150 hogs out, but the others unfortunately died in the fire.
The owner of the farm is Scot Kotasek and Phillips said he has several other farms in the area.
Phillips said it appears a problem with the electrical wiring may have caused the fire, but investigation continues.
