MADISON, Wis. (AP) – A jury has convicted a former state trooper of sexually assaulting his adopted daughter.

Prosecutors charged 49-year-old James Norquay of Juda earlier this year with six felonies including second-degree sexual assault of a child and incest. A Green County jury convicted him on all six counts on Friday.

Juda faces up to 40 years in prison and $100,000 in fines on each count when he’s sentenced Jan. 19.

A state investigator said in a criminal complaint Norquay began assaulting the girl when she was placed in his home as a 15-year-old foster child in late 2008.

Norquay and his wife later adopted the girl. The girl told investigators the assaults continued until she was removed from the home in January 2010.

Norquay’s attorney didn’t immediately return a message.
