Large Pot-Growing Operation Found In Askov, Minn.

ASKOV, Minn. (WCCO) — A large marijuana growing operation was discovered in Askov, Minn. Tuesday, according to the Pine County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say a drug investigation led them to a large commercial building, where they executed a search warrant. Inside, a large hydroponic marijuana growing operation was found inside a hidden room.

The operation included 400 plants, which ranged from 2 inches to 5 feet tall. The estimated street value was $150,000.

After the pot bust, authorities executed a search warrant at the suspect’s house in Barnum. Another large hydroponic marijuana growing operation was discovered in the upstairs of the garage.

Charges are pending.

There just went lots of tax dollars out the window. They should really consider making pot legal. Think jobs people…

  • Dave's not here

The war on weed is so ridiculous and breeds such contempt from close to 50% of the population. I’m amazed the police aren’t the loudest voice in the drive to decriminalize and regulate it.

Want to balance the budget, legalize and tax it.

    • Boiiiii

Agreed. If liquor is legal, so should marijuana

  • Reasearch

So now you busted them. Someone else will just grow more to replace this. I agree with Dave’s not here. Police have to get annoyed by busting so many people for this non-violent crime. Plus I’m getting annoyed spending 200 a month on it.

comments of no substance and wanting legalization of a substance that alters behavior need to sober up and get a grasp on life.Too much pot, alcohol, or whatever the vice leads to issues on a personal level. Research indicates pot has medicinal purposes, but to put in a healthy body and lose the ability of snap judgement, become lazy, and use on a regular basis does not make for functional people. At one time opium was legal too. lets just have a free for all and legalize it all for the sake of economic growth and free up the jails, not a good or logical argument. Again as a pharmaceutical pot has a great use with few side effects that will kill a person which many of the drugs on the market do today. So growing for medical use go ahead, but the drug companies would not like that. So in reality money talks and research of a natural medicine is shut down, and made illegal. Common sense some one please.

“Too much pot, alcohol, or whatever the vice leads to issues on a personal level. ”

That is not your business to decide for me or anybody else. If you don’t want a “vice on a personal level” then you probably should avoid all mind altering substances.

But don’t tell me I can’t eat a steak because a baby can’t chew it. You can’t just legislate to the lowest common denominator.

Again, don’t want to smoke it, then don’t. But you have no right to tell everybody else they can’t because there are weak people out there looking for a reason to destroy themselves. Here’s a hint: They’re going to find a way no matter what you do.

We all get one life on this miserable mud ball. Why do you think you should be allowed to tell someone they can’t catch a buzz because YOU don’t like it?
