EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have avoided a local television blackout for Sunday’s home game against Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos.

Chief marketing officer Steve LaCroix says the game will be broadcast on Fox in the Twin Cities market.

The Vikings had about 5,800 tickets available for the game 10 days ago and about 3,000 left at the beginning of the week, but they reached another sellout of their 64,000-seat stadium to ensure local television coverage despite their 2-9 record.

The Vikings have gone 142 straight home games without a blackout, including preseason, regular season and playoff games since the start of the 1998 season. The Vikings have home games left against New Orleans on Dec. 18 and Chicago on Jan. 1.

Oh thank God. Hate to miss this game. Wait, want to see the new Twilite movie. Guess I will miss the game…or maybe I’ll watch re-runs of “That 70s show” or maybe wash my hair or….

Glad Zygi could afford the left over 3,000 tickets after his penthouse purchase.

les frazier would prefer a local blackout….2-9 ziggy don’t wait on les’s firing,go down on the field and can him like you did mike tice……clearly the wrong choice

Hate it when all those people who do not support the Vikings create another sell out. From the comments about the new stadium, you would think no one likes them. I guess the squeaky wheel crowd doesn’t.

  • NO TAX MONEY !!

LET’S BUILD A BIGGER STADIUM WITH TAX MONEY !! THEN WHEN THEY DON’T SELL OUT WE WON’T EVEN BE ABLE TO WATCH THEM !! DA !! DAYTON DO YOU GET IT ?????? LOWER PROPERTY TAXES !!!!

    • Swamp Rat

      @no tax money??
Get a life and go elsewhere with your political histrionic diatribes. Just remember, if you are so mad at the state of affairs in MN and in the Vikings then be an activist for change, vote for the candidates who best represents your district, run for office if so inclined, or just plain and civilly express your feelings without screaming your ignorance and blaming anyone who doesn’t agree with you.

As for the folks who bought out the tickets to avoid a hometown game blackout, I suppose now this will be an entertainment business expense write-off? Oh, well, the Vikes had better win this one or its TV fans will go elsewhere!!!

  • Doy doy doy doy doy!

Like anybody with any sense really cares. Vikings = doosh bags.

  • Sandy

Well, I care, I have supported the Vikings for many years, in good times and in bad……….I like to watch them and would be very sad if they left. Vikings will get it together , remember…. there is always next year (I hope)

    • Not to worry

As the poor fan has said for the past 51 years.

Not to worry, the Vikings are gearing up for this game. They will be all ramped up until at least the coin toss. Then it’ll be another hard fought loss to add to the team record.

Hope this means the Packers are still televised after the Vikes game. People care more about watching them than the Vikings! But I am sure Fox local will block it and play MASH reruns instead.
