Police Looking For Suspect In String Of Armed Robberies

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis Police and Crime Stoppers are looking for a suspect who they believe is responsible for at least seven armed robberies in Minneapolis and three other cities.

Police said the armed robberies started Oct. 4. They believe a man is most often armed with a sawed off shotgun during the robberies. Six of them have occurred at gas stations or convenience stores, three have been at smaller chain restaurants and one was a cab driver.

The suspect is described as a black man with a dark complexion about 20 to 25 years old. He’s about 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall with a medium build. Police said he has worn a brown or blue hooded sweatshirt and a “Carhartt” style jacket and gloves. In all of the robberies, police said he used a bandana or mask to cover a part of his face.

Anyone with information about the robberies or who can identify the man is asked to call Minneapolis Police. Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the man’s arrest.
