Lower Proposed Tax Increase For Mpls. Than Expected
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis Public School leaders are looking for help from taxpayers.
They're proposing a one percent tax increase, which is much lower than what some speculated this fall, when there was talk of a 10 percent tax hike request.
According to the district, the increase would cost the owner of a $150,000 home roughly an extra $6.
The increase would bring in nearly $2 million for the district.
The public can comment on the proposed levy Tuesday evening at district headquarters. The meeting begins at 6 p.m.
