MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO/AP) — Minnesota Vikings QB Christian Ponder will play in today’s game, however star RB Adrian Peterson will not, according to team officials.
Ponder, who had a hip pointer in last Sunday’s game, missed the first two practices of the week before returning to work on Friday.
This will mark Peterson’s third straight game that he has missed as he continues to heal from a high ankle sprain. Peterson practiced on a limited basis with that injured left ankle.

OF COURSE PETERSON IS OUT, WHY WOULD THE TEAM RISK FURTHER INJURY IN A LOST SEASON?…..WE DON’T NEED PETERSON THE REST OF THIS SEASON, HE COULD HEAD HOME AND COME BACK NEXT SEASON FOR THAT MATTER…….BUT WOULD HE BE ASKED TO PLAY IF THE VIKINGS HAD A SHOT AT POST SEASON PLAY??….HUMMMMMM.
