MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A Twin Cities soldier was among those killed when two Army helicopters crashed at a base in Washington, WCCO-TV learned on Wednesday.

Sergeant Lucas Sigfrid died Monday night in the accident. A family member confirmed that he graduated from Champlin Park High School and attended St. Cloud State University for pilot training before joining the Army.

Sigfrid’s Facebook page says he’s from Zimmerman and is filled with messages of condolences to his family.

Three other soldiers died in the accident. The military hasn’t said what caused the accident, which remains under investigation.
