MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The last Holidazzle parade of the season was particularly memorable for one Minneapolis couple.

Dan Rodriguez had his girlfriend Megan Gilbertson convinced that they’d won a contest to meet Santa. But when Santa arrived, he just helped Dan ask a very special question.

Megan has been coming to Holidazzle with her family since she was a kid and it’s been a tradition for the couple for the four years they have dated.

Um you’d think a shower and a brush would be used prior to asking this ?

I’ve been making it a tradition myself and living in San Francisco, an ex-Minneapolis resident, since 2003. I always attend the first night. Haven’t missed one since. But the parade committee needs to do a few changes:.
    1. Aoid the big gaps between floats.
    2. Add new floats.
    3. Parade needs more music. The choir is ok., but its boring. Need uplifting music.

I no longer stand and view the entire parade any longer. The huge gaps between the floats just isn’t worth standing around viewing the same stuff year after year.

Guys ask their girlfriends to marry them all the time, but I don’t consider this to be newsworthy. I get more joy in watching the service men and women returning from Iraq and other places. Perhaps these marriage proposals should be done in a more private setting.

It’s called a “human interest” piece, grinch. get over it.
