MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Vikings announced Tuesday afternoon that defensive end Jared Allen has been selected to the Pro Bowl.
Allen, who is in his eighth year in the NFL, earned his fourth Pro Bowl selection. He has a league-best 18.5 sacks and is three sacks away from setting the Vikings’ franchise single-season record set by Chris Doleman, who had 21.
Allen also leads the NFL with four fumble recoveries and has posted two games of at least three sacks. Since he entered the league in 2004, he has 101.5 sacks to lead the NFL.
The NFC and AFC will battle in the Pro Bowl on Sunday, Jan. 29 in Hawaii.
