Golden Valley Police Warn Of Craigslist Ticket Scam

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. (WCCO) — Police arrested a juvenile Thursday accused of selling fraudulent entertainment tickets in the Twin Cities.

The juvenile, who is part of a larger group of scammers, allegedly sold fake tickets through Craigslist to the Guthrie, Pantages Theaters, Minnesota Wild, Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins.

Police say the suspects used Craigslist to advertise the tickets and gave customers a printable ticket from an email.

Police are looking for victims of this scam and ask anyone who may have information about these incidents to call the Golden Valley Police Department at 763-593-8079.

Tipsters may remain anonymous. No additional information was available.

When are people going to learn to, at least, use eBay when buying tickets. Ebay does have certain buyer/seller protection policies and all that Craig’s List doesn’t. Also, there are legitimate after-market ticket sellers, like Ticket King whose livelihood depends on above-board honest transactions.

Craig’s list is probably the last place I would buy tickets other than the venue source, Ticket King, or eBay. When are people going to learn–“Caveat Emptor”!? — “The buyer [needs to] beware.”

Or you could use the biggest ticket buying site available and endorsed by every major sport, STUBHUB but hey swamp rat you sound informed lol.

    1. Swamp Rat says:

Sorry! I forgot StubHub. That’s another good legit source for tickets.
Just watch those “service” charges. Thanks!

    I got scammed.

I bought tickets to a Vikings professional football game but only saw a bunch of idiots and losers dressed in Vikings jerseys.

We are talking ticket scams here. If you went to see the Vikings you get what you pay for this year!!!

It seems Craigslist in in the news every week, nothing but a bunch of scammers, spammers and ripoffs, it should be shutdown.
