MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Next time you book a flight you may experience a little sticker shock — and it’s not because the prices have gone up.
Starting Thursday, the federal government is now requiring airlines to include all of the “hidden-fees” in any advertised price.
Those fees can add an average of $40 to the advertised price of the ticket.
Consumers still won’t find baggage fees and other optional charges included in the advertised price. The airlines will need to display those charges more clearly on their site however.
