Toddler Stabbed Is Released From Hospital

BABBITT, Minn. (AP) — The 3-year-old girl stabbed multiple times allegedly by her mother’s boyfriend, has been released from the hospital in Ely.

The 27-year-old man was shot and wounded by police in Babbitt Tuesday as he held a knife to the child. A police officer initially tried disarming the suspect by deploying a stun gun, but it was ineffective. The man is hospitalized in Duluth.

Natalee Walker is at home with her grandmother, Cynti Tricker. She tells KBJR-TV that her granddaughter was stabbed twice in the side and once above her knee. Tricker says the suspect had been in a relationship with her daughter for a few months and was living in the home.

    what’s wrong with men?

    • O'Shannon

Even more so, what is wrong with these women. She had only been dating him a few months and he lived with her and her daughter. Women (especially) need to stand up and be more careful and choosey about who they let around their children. Now her baby has to pay for her incredibly poor choices.

      • Chrissy

I could not agree more. As a woman and mother myself, I continue to be stunned at how many women will allow a man they barely know around their children, let alone move in with them. Your children’s well being must be priority. I would not allow a man around my child unless I knew him for a long time. I would also strongly suggest accessing the MN Court Website and searching for criminal records as well. It’s quick and free.

    • AntiTeabagger

More women kill children then men do, so do not start the whole “man” thing.

Take it, I would love to have 5 mins with the guy, but don’t put all men in that category when all you see on CNN is a mother killing her 5 children, or a mother killing her kids because she heard voices, or wanted to have an affair.

      • O'Shannon

Absolutely true! I agree, its not really a ‘big bad MAN’ thing. Women, however, are usually the primary care givers in a single parent situation. But what Its really about making better choice about who you give access to your children, men and women alike.I am not a mother but, to me, it is just common sense.

      • not so

Not so. It’s that when women kill, its Flagged every where. I bet you dollars to donuts, that no one out of this area will hear about this. Men kill more. And it is sad that women have to do back ground checks on men who come into their lives. I don’t believe it used to be this way, since I lived it.

    • I agree

Also why was the baby released already? Why not more observation to assure
something isn’t quietly going on in her system that could cause problems. People can disagree all they want, but it isn’t women killing in overdrive, as the world experiences today. When was the last time you saw a hoard of yelling women, waving and shooting guns in the air, looking dangerous?

He should never have the right to even look at another child again.. Prayers are sent to that little girl and her grandmother.

  • smart guy

Whats wrong with men?? What a shallow and idiotic comment…Whats wrong with this loser guy is a better way of saying it…I bet your a single fat lady that lives with 20 cats and just hates men..I am a man with a 2 year old daughter and I love her more then the world so this story makes me sick and this guy should just be stabbed in hs face……but whats wrong with men is just a dumb and uneducated comment..

You are so right! There have been so many caring and gentle men in my life: my father, brothers, my grown step-son (who is a wonderful father to his infant daughter), male friends & co-workers, brothers-inj-law, my son-in-law, and, of course, my husband. So, please don’t lump everyone into one mold. I certainly wouldn’t appreciate being thought of as a bad mother or grandmother because of a few bad women.

  • Face It

Men are sick and need help. As a gender, they kill more people, start more wars, molest more children, own more guns, engage in high risk behavior, and have a steady diet of violent movies, games, etc. That’s quite a rap sheet. I’m beginning to think that Jesus Christ was really a woman.

Men also are usually the ones running into burning buildings to save people, regardless of gender, race, age or sexual preference. I love that about men, the ability to put aside their own safety without hesitation for the sake of complete strangers. Not that women can’t or don’t do this, but we often don’t want to risk that our children will be left without their mommies in the event of the ultimate sacrifice.

    • Ace

It’s not the gender, it’s the individual. Most people are nice but you mostly hear about the bad ones because bad news sells.

  • melissa

I’m so glad the child was not more seriously hurt. This could have been a more horrible outcome.

  • get smart

I do not think it is just men. It the men who tend to be in households with children, mostly not their children, because these particular men have managed to pray on ignorant women to get a roof over their heads. It is very common for these men to harm the children. We read many stories like this. So, I agree, it is not ALL men. And it IS women’s responsibility to choose better. However, some certainly are not.
