BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) — Jordan George scored the game-winning goal midway through the third period as Bemidji State beat Minnesota State, Mankato 2-1 Friday in a Western Collegiate Hockey Association game.
George broke a 1-1 tie at 9:46 of the third period for the Beavers (12-11-2, 6-9-2), who have won just two of their last nine games against the Mavericks (8-18-1, 4-14-1).
Max Gaede gave MSUM a 1-0 lead at 8:58 of the first period. The Mavericks kept the lead until Danny Mattson tied it for the Beavers at 16:20 of the second.
Dan Bakala made 39 saves for Bemidji State. Phil Cook stopped 24 for the Mavericks.
