Authorities: Car Hits, Kills Woman In Anoka

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A woman is dead after a car hit her Monday evening near an Anoka intersection, authorities said.

The incident occurred around 6:27 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 10 and Thurston Avenue Northwest.

Authorities say no arrests were made and that drugs and/or alcohol are not suspected to be involved.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the incident to help recreate the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.

    ANOKA, Minn. — A woman is dead after getting hit by a car Monday evening.

    Authorities say the incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 10 and Thurston Avenue in Anoka.

    The victim was in the median on Thurston Ave. when she intentionally walked into on-coming traffic authorities say.

    The name of the victim has not been released.

    The incident is still under investigation.

      Hwy 10 and Thurston….that’s where the Vineyard used to be. Man, I miss that place, great prime rib and the salad was the bomb.

    She obviously DID suffer greatly before dying. The desperate depression that led her to do something so horrible proves it. Does that, somehow, make it better for you??

    Times are definetly tuff now. Lots of desparados out there. Any one of us could come onto hard times these days. Gotta keep focussed and hopefully have back up plans

    She lost her husband to brain cancer a couple of months ago, and she left young children behind. Such a sad situation…I hope it wasn’t intentional.

      Sorry, this was a mistake…the woman I wrote about actually was hit on the sidewalk in Maple Grove. So very sad.
