ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – A 16-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday after trying to flee from police following a trip to the doctor, according to St. Paul Police.
Authorities said the incident started at about 3:30 p.m. Monday when Ramsey County Sheriff’s deputies transported the boy to a Health Partners clinic for a medical appointment.
After the clinic visit, the boy was being escorted back to a transit van when he ran away from two deputies, escaped the building and went into a residential area just north of the clinic, police said. Authorities searched for the boy throughout Monday night and into Tuesday.
The teen was arrested at about 4 p.m. Tuesday by Ramsey County deputies with assistance from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. He was transported back to the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center, where he was in custody on charges of aggravated robbery and terroristic threats.
The incident is still under investigation by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office.
