Retired Vet Claims Winning Gopher 5 Ticket

WELLS, Minn. (AP) — A retired veteran from Wells has claimed a winning lottery ticket worth nearly $1.3 million.

Benjamin Ramos Sr. matched all five numbers for the Feb. 10 drawing of Gopher 5.

He’s says he normally doesn’t play that game but his ex-wife called and told him the jackpot was getting big. He says he thinks Lady Luck was tired of seeing him lose.

Gopher 5 drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Players pick five numbers from 1 to 47 for a chance to win a jackpot of at least $100,000.

The lottery says it’s the second jackpot over $1 million in less than two months.

He bought the ticket from Casey’s General Store in Wells and the owners will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

hopefully he will give his ex-wife a part of it, since she’s why he went out and bought the ticket! Good for him on the big win!

She probably doesn’t have the money to buy anything, so told him to buy it, and of course, to keep peace he did. I would keep the whole pot! Just saying……..

She probably got more than that over the years in alimony, I would give her nothing but the bird.
