Travelocity To Refund Customers $2.5M For Insurance

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- More than 80,000 Minnesotans who bought travel insurance through Travelocity will be getting a refund.

Nearly $2.5 million will be returned to people who used Travelocity between June 1, 2009 and January 24, 2012.

Minnesota's Department of Commerce said two insurance providers used by Travelocity violated the law by automatically enrolling customers in optional travel insurance policies.

Minnesota consumers who think they may be eligible for a refund should contact the Department of Commerce for information.
