Wisconsin Beats Bemidji St. 4-2

BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) — Michael Mersch had a goal and an assist in Wisconsin's three-goal second period as the Badgers beat Bemidji State 4-2 on Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

Bemidji State (15-15-3, 9-13-3) led 1-0 after one period following a goal by Jake Areshenko.

But the Badgers (14-15-2, 9-14-2) came right back with two quick goals early in the second period and Mersch's game-winner at 19:47.

Jamie McQueen got the Beavers within a goal just 1:40 into the third, but John Ramage iced it for Wisconsin at 19:28.

Landon Peterson had 28 saves for the Badgers and Dan Bakala had 22 for Bemidji State, which was 0-for-5 on the power play.
