GLENCOE, Minn. (WCCO) – Since February 29th only comes once every four years, one Minnesotan that was born in the year 1912 says she is celebrating her 25th birthday this Wednesday.
“They know that I love to polka,” said Alice Grunewaldt as celebrated both one full and one-quarter century with a day of polka dancing this past weekend.
Family and friends joined Grunewaldt at the Playmore Ballroom in Glencoe on Saturday.
Grunewaldt said not only does she love polka, but it seems to be keeping her young.
Statistically speaking, there’s a one in 1,461 chance of being born on a Leap Day.
