ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) – A 67-year-old St. Cloud man was arrested Tuesday and is accused of abusing two small children in his home daycare, according to police.

St. Cloud Police received a complaint at about 10:37 a.m. Tuesday that a man was physically assaulting two small children on the 2400 block of West Division Street. After receiving more complaints of abuse, officers spotted the man and the children near the intersection of 21st Avenue and 3rd Street North in St. Cloud.

Police identified the man as Waldamar Joseph Tischner. He was arrested for felony malicious punishment of a child and booked into the Stearns County Jail.

Police later learned that Tischner helps run an in-home daycare in St. Cloud. Officials with the State of Minnesota are currently in the process of suspending Tischner’s daycare license.
