MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Minneapolis fire crews are investigating a possible gas leak at the downtown Target on Ninth and Nicollet.

A call was received at 1:47 p.m., reporting the smell of gas inside the store, according to dispatch.

Firefighters and the gas company for Target are trying to locate the source.

Centerpoint said they were notified by the Minneapolis Fire Department regarding the smell and sent a technician to the site.

The store was temporarily evacuated for about 10 minutes but has since been re-opened.

Probably coming from the storm drains with the rain we had.

Every building downtown minneapolis smells like sewer gas. I remember when I worked at the Zapata on Hennepin ave and I nearly puked everytime I went downstairs. The city has some serious sewer problems
