MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 64-year-old man died in a house explosion and fire Wednesday night, according to the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities identified the man as Daniel Ray Rustad of the Lake Lillian area.

Fire crews were called at 2:21 p.m. Wednesday to a house in Fahlun, Minn., on a report of a house explosion and fire on the 126th Avenue on the northeast side of Big Kandiyohi Lake. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Minnesota Fire Marshall’s Office were called to assist.

Authorities discovered Rustad’s body among the remains of the house. The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office said the cause of the house explosion and fire is still under investigation.
