Bachmann: Bridge Approval Was ‘Absolute Elation’

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Lawmakers approved legislation for a new bridge over the St. Croix River, now it’s headed for President Obama’s desk.

He’s expected to approve the new four-lane span, connecting Oak Park Heights and St. Joseph, Wisconsin.

It will replace the old Stillwater Lift Bridge.

Thursday, Congress finalized its approval of the $700 million bridge project.

Critics argued that it’s too expensive, and will hurt the environment.

Supporters say it will bring an economic boost to the area, and ease congestion.

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann was the House sponsor on the bridge and said when this project was finally pushed through, it was “absolute elation.”

“It was a thrill,” she said. “It was nip and tuck all the way through.”

Bachmann joined Esme Murphy on the Sunday Morning show. Watch her complete interview above.

What, you mean she is actually doing work now instead of pretending to run for President and wasting millions of dollars? Hmmmm

I’m having a hard time making posts too — I must have struck a cord with somone.

Rush Limbaugh say anything worse about Sandra Fluke than David Letterman making sexual jokes about Sarah Palin’s teenage daughter.

He’s to caught up in damage control at the moment.
For an impotent “big boy” in need of a pill to be a man I always find it funny when he goes after others.

      Fret not – someone will.
Seems the party and those around it can’t escape some controversy even for a day.

They should name the Bridge after Michelle Bachmann — she deserves a bridge name sooner or later.

      Thank you
She is long overdue to be acknowledged as the brightest bulb on the GOP tree.
I’m hoping soon I can get some too, if ya know what I mean

Maybe, Franken wants the new bridge to be called “Rats Bridge” for those 400 votes he got from the sewer in North Minneapolis?. Mark Dayton wants his name on the new “Peoples Viking Stadium” ?
