MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s St. Patrick’s Day, and if it turns out that you’re have a little too much fun out there, consider riding a Metro Transit light rail train.

To sweeten the pot (o’ gold), the train rides are being offered free of charge.

Miller Lite is sponsoring the free rides, which begin after 6 p.m. The partnership will also provide free trips on buses and and the Northstar commuter rail line.

Many of the bars are offering shuttles, as well.

St. Paul Police have extra patrols, and they’ll be there on horseback, motorcycles and added 24 extra officers as part of a Safe and Sober campaign to watch out for drunk drivers.

Yeah! My tax dollars are now subsidizing drunken fools!

Actually Miller is paying for a majority of it and, I would much rather have my tax dollars going towards metro transit than see more people die because of drunk driving.

“Rule 25” costs way more than the light rail system offering free rides.

Mass Transit should be running 24 hours on Friday and Saturdays.
